For a while now, Tesla have been the ‘go-to’ manufacturer for electric cars, despite BMW’s efforts with the i3 & i8. But now they may just have a rival… Pininfarina.
The new Pininfarina Hybrid Kinetic H600 is only a concept, but it looks like it could be exactly what’s needed to shake up the electric car market. Something we’ve needed to slow down Tesla’s dominance. Although, we are fans of Tesla here at TorqueHQ… a monopoly is never good in any business.
The car is a result of Pininfarina’s multimillion-dollar deal with Hybrid Kinetic Group. Dubbed the H600, the elegant and very original sedan car uses a hybrid powertrain that outputs over 800 horesepower.
We can’t help but feel some of the modelling of this car is influenced by Volvo and Maserati, but that’s not to say it detracts from the overall stylish look of the concept car. Not to mention the suicide doors, which when open show off the very classy interior. With rich brown leather throughout and dark wood veneers to break it up a little, there’s no denying that ‘classy’ is the way you will feel everytime you sit in the H600.
With this being a concept, it’s almost impossible to have exact details on the power output. But Pininfarina are positive that the 800+ horsepower is achievable with the hybrid powertrain.
We certainly think Pininfarina are on to something with this car, and we are excited to see what they have up their sleeve.
What do Pinifarina expect to achieve?
0-62mph: 2.9 Seconds
Top Speed: 155mph
Power: 800+ bhp
Range: 620 miles
As said, this is all to be taken with a pinch of salt, as we only have the manufacturers word to go by.
