Strategies to Stay With Your Strength Training Program

Anyone who has pursued a serious strength training regimen has learned that if you skip just one workout, this can easily lead to dropping out of your program altogether. It’s hard to believe until it happens to you.

What this means is that you have to make strength training as much an integral part of your life as other things you do with unfailing regularity, such as shower, dress, eat, sleep, an so forth. Just set your mind that this is something you do without fail as part of your life.

Of course, you don’t need to do strength training every day. Three times a week is the norm, which gives your body time to rest.  Set aside three days for your workouts, such as Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Set aside a time slot on those days that is your workout time slot. Make it a time slot in which you have the fewest conflicts, such as lunch time or right after work. Then just make it part of your life to keep on that schedule.

It helps to have convenient access to your exercise equipment, such a health club nearby, or exercise equipment in your home. Further, if it’s equipment in your home, you should find a place for it that is easy to go to and a pleasant place to work out. You should avoid placing your equipment in a dark basement where it can be a turn off to go down there and work out. One solution is the F7 Fold Away Strength Trainer by Torque Fitness. It folds away into a compact  3′ x 3′ cabinet in the corner of any room and blends with the decor.

Finally, it is important to have exercise variety in your workouts. Going through the same motions time and again can get boring. It can also short change certain areas of the muscle group that do not get involved in a controlled motion exercise. The solution is exercise equipment that involves resistance travel in 3-dimensional space, the way your body moves in the real world. This is why professional trainers recommend free weights, or resistance machines that emulate free weight movement, which is also known as functional trainers such as the F1 or F2 from Torque Fitness. With free weights or functional training equipment, you can vary the exercise movement in ways that alleviate boredom and exercise each muscle group more comprehensively.

In summary, you need to make strength training an integral part of your life on specific days and time slots. You should have easy access to the equipment at a club or at home, If at home, you should work out in pleasant surroundings, not a dark basement. Finally, you should make sure the equipment you use enables exercise variety and 3-dimensional resistance travel to alleviate boredom.

It’s Hard to Stay Motivated in Fitness. Maybe Apple can help.

The people at Torque Fitness are always designing new strength equipment to help you live stronger and enjoy a more active life.  But one thing we all know is how hard it is to stay motivated and continue using the equipment.  Now Apple Computer has developed new technology that brings the excitement of competition to your workout. It displays your workout performance and that of a friend or family member so you can compete against each other as you work out. Read this short article to learn more.

Welcome to Advanced Strength Training

Proper Strength Training is a science involving unlimited combinations of variables such as the amount of resistance, the range of motion, the number of reps, the number of sets, the frequency of training, the integration of cardio and stretching, and how to schedule and cycle through specific muscle groups, to name a few of the many considerations. This blog will publish contributions from people who have spent their careers designing equipment, structuring workouts, and personally pursuing health and wellness goals through strength training.
