Occupation: Mechanic / MOT Tester
Like many people, Ali has gone from small hatchback to small hatchback for the past few years, pouring money into his first cars where they eventually end up in a scrapyard or being more irritating than a fun drivers car. That’s where, after multiple modified French hatchbacks, Ali decided JDM + V6 = Win.
A sunset orange 3.5L V6 Nissan 350Z GT was then purchased.
Many people like to slate the sunset orange colour when these cars are photographed, but without a doubt it is my favourite factory colour for the 350 when in person. It’s certainly not a usual colour choice, but if the loud V6 or the sound of tyres squealing isn’t enough to turn heads, then at least the colour will.
Currently the mod list is small, however it’s all steps in the right direction. A motordyne plenum spacer, an Uprev remap, Miltek Y pipe and that’s about it. Currently the car is making around 310BHP at the flywheel, but we’re sure that once Ali has this car looking the way he wants it, more power will be just around the corner!
We asked Ali what the future holds for his orange 350, and we were certainly happy with the response.
“Future plans would be some BC coilovers, some rota grids and a rocket bunny spoiler”.
It’s common for people to question the driver when they mention Rocket Bunny. It’s something usually done purely for show reasons, and we’re glad to hear Ali has no plans to go for a full Rocket Bunny kit on this car, despite it looking amazing! The spoiler however looks great on the car alone, and will definitely be worth the purchase.
Interior in mind, the 350Z is actually a pleasant place to be. The ‘brown’ leather interior matched up with the gauges and extremely short gear shifter really match up well, and definitely compliment the car well.
